WHY JUNE 25th?
**Tuesday, February 2, 1982
When must one celebrate the feast of The Queen of Peace? The Blessed Virgin smiled as she answered:
"I would prefer that it take place June 25th. The faithful have come for the first time on that day, on the hill."**
Middle of June, 1984
To Jelena:
"Prepare yourselves through prayer, for the third anniversary of the beginning of the apparitions. June 25th should be celebrated as the Feast of Mary, 'Queen of Peace'."

Special Thanks To:
the late Brother Leonard Konopka - a member of a religious order named Congregation of Marians of the Immaculate Conception

He entered the order in 1951 and served the Community in various roles. After
Vatican II, he was the first Brother of the Community to be elected Superior of a
Monastery, a role that needed a Vatican dispensation since it was always reserved for priests in the community. He was subsequently assigned this role on three separate occasions.
Brother Leonard received his BA Degree in Secondary Education and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and then acquired several advanced certifications in Individual and Group Spiritual Direction.
Together with another Marian priest he co-founded the Marian Home of Prayer. This was a facility providing programs in which the integration of Spirituality and Therapeutic principles provided for those seeking healing in various areas of their lives. It was the first of its kind to provide this particular kind of service in the Archdiocese of Washington DC. At the height of this effort a staff of 30 Pastoral Counselors, Therapists and a Psychiatrist, provided assistance for approximately four hundred people coming each month to receive the benefits of this kind of service that combined the best of spirituality and therapy.
In addition, Brother Leonard conducted numerous workshops, retreats and prayer meetings throughout a number of parishes on the East coast. He was also responsible for promoting Divine Mercy devotion in the archdiocese of Washington DC, as well as coordinating the Divine Mercy Sunday activities that are held every year at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. He also initiated the promoting of the Divine Mercy devotion at the John Paul II Cultural Center in Wash. D.C.
Brother Leonard was stationed at the major seminary conducted by the Marian Community in Wash DC. He provided Spiritual Direction for many including our National Marian Center (formerly The Anniversary Committee), retreats and wrote articles for various Marian Community Publications. He also coordinated the recording of the entire Diary of St. Faustina on CD’s.
